The Observatory on Principle 10 in Latin America and the Caribbean is a regularly-updated tool under development that aims to include the greatest number of references, provisions and other relevant information on access rights to information, participation and justice in environmental matters contained in the environmental treaties to which countries of the 33 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean are a Party, and their constitutions, laws, regulations, plans, strategies, policies and jurisprudence.

At the Fifth Meeting of the Negotiating Committee of the Regional Agreement on Access to Information, Participation and Justice in Environmental Matters in Latin America and the Caribbean (Santiago, November 2016), the establishment of the Observatory in the framework of the efforts undertaken by ECLAC, in its capacity as technical secretariat of the process, was appreciated. Furthermore, countries and the public were encouraged to continue to contribute information to the Observatory.

Any input aimed at improving the information of this Observatory is highly valuable to us.
